Nga Gyur Shed Dup Charity Foundation (NSCF) was established by our spiritual director and precious root guru, Sonam Rinpoche in mid -2006. It is Rinpoche’s life-time mission to continuously uphold and propagate the Buddha’s teachings for the benefit of all the sentient beings, and most importantly actualize the dharma into action in the secular world. From an early age, with his natural-born-Boddhicitta, Rinpoche has always had a strong desire to help underprivileged children particularly those in Tibet where poverty has prevailed from generation to generation.
In mid 2006, through Rinpoche’s tiredless effort, his dream was realized. He and a group of devoted disciples who were inspired by Rinpoche's compassion and energy, set up the NSCF.

Nga Gyur Shed Dup Charity Foundation (NSCF) is a non-profit social welfare organisation dedicated to constructing a multi-purpose building in Tibetan communities. This building will be a combination of an old folk’s home (Nga Gyur Shed Dup Seniors' Home), an orphanage (Nga Gyur Shed Dup Childrens' Home), and a Buddhist Institute (Nga Gyur Shed Dup Dharma Institute), all under one roof.
Our vision is to build a bridge that will bring the suffering of the Tibetan people to a better end. The NSCF’s mission is to serve the unfortunate Tibetans by providing shelter, food, clothing, education as well as spiritual and emotional support, meanwhile to bring hope to them, based on compassion, wisdom and skillful means. Our motto for this project is care, love and hope.
NSCF has three main objectives:
- To provide home, food and education for children who are orphaned, abandoned as well as underprivileged so that they may grow up to lead normal lives.
- To provide the basic essentials and shelter to homeless and older laypeople so that they are under our care and support and may spend the rest of their lives in meditation retreat.
- To develop one’s full potential of infinite wisdom and compassion through a fully accredited Buddhist university offering graduate and undergraduate education based on the principles of the Buddhadharma.

Tibet is a land of dreams, of temples and Himalayan expeditions, of ancient cities and picturesque villages and the birthplace of many enlightened Buddhist Masters (Mahasiddhas). This ancientness nation has inherited and retained a wholesome culture and unique customs. This land of cultural diversity and rich tradition is also one of the poorest regions in the world and for much of its population, daily life is difficult. More than half of the people live below the poverty line. The harsh cold climate in this mystic land adds to the suffering of the Tibetan communities.
NSCF is a charitable organisation that receives no governmental funding and relies solely based on the charitable contributions of donors from all over the world to assist us in our effort to shelter and educate those children and elderly in need.
If the author of a treatise declares his respect to the teacher, he will be successful,
For this reason one should generate faith and devotion
In the teacher and treatise.
