Puja

The basic purpose of any Dharma practice is to purify all karmic obstacles created since beginning-less lives time ago, to increase and enhance one’s accumulation of merit and wisdom; as well as to smoothen our paths toward Supreme Enlightenment. In Vajrayana, there are countless ways and skillful means to achieve such goals. In short, Puja enables us to dispel misfortunes and obstacles, and to fulfill our mundane wishes. Ultimately speaking, the main purpose of this puja is to liberate sentient beings from the samsaric ocean of suffering, and to assist them in attaining Buddhahood – which is the peerless bliss and unsurpassable happiness of all.

Benefits of Puja
For the accomplishment of the Four Activities:

  1. Pacification: to dispel the Two Obstructions ( 1. Delusive Obscuration to Liberation 2.Obscuration to Omniscience) and to attain Supreme Buddhahood.
  2. Increasing: to increasing one’s Merit and Wisdom (e.g. the Two Accumulations)
  3. Magnetizing: to hook and attract one’s Merit and Wisdom, and to dispel the Two Obstructions ( 1. Delusive Obscuration to Liberation 2.Obscuration to Omniscience)
  4. Destroying: to cut-off self grasping attachment and egoistic views, to destroy the Four Demons (Sanskrit: Maras 1. Devaputramara, child of the gods; Kleshamara, mental afflictions; Skandhamara, appearance as form, and Mrtyamara, mortality); and to attain Buddhahood in one life time.
