The
basic purpose of any Dharma practice is to purify all karmic
obstacles created since beginning-less lives time ago, to
increase and enhance one’s accumulation of merit and wisdom;
as well as to smoothen our paths toward Supreme Enlightenment.
In Vajrayana, there are countless ways and skillful means
to achieve such goals. In short, Puja enables us to dispel
misfortunes and obstacles, and to fulfill our mundane wishes.
Ultimately speaking, the main purpose of this puja is to
liberate sentient beings from the samsaric ocean of suffering,
and to assist them in attaining Buddhahood – which is the
peerless bliss and unsurpassable happiness of all.

The Avalokitesvara Grand Puja 2008
NSCF has organized the first
Avalokitesvara Grand Puja on April 12th and 13th 2008, presided
by H.E. Sonam Rinpoche, at Kuala Lumpur and Selangor Chinese
Assembly Hall, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. More than 300 participants
from the different states of Malaysia joined the two days
events. The two days programs included the Red Avalokitesvara
Initiation, Vajrakilaya Initiation, Thsog Offerings, the
Red Avalokitesvara Changchuk and etc. Sonam Rinpoche conducted
all the programs in accordance to the profound terma that revealed by the terton, 1st Adzom
Drugpa Rinpoche in the 19th century. The terma is the essence
and methods especially in the contemporary era, to remove
obscurations and to accumulate merit as well as to accumulate
wisdom, It is a essential remedy to eliminate delusion and
embark us on the path to Enlightenment. Merit has the power
to pacify one's negative thoughts, afflictions, habitual
patterns, and to transform one's negative karma. The accumulation
of merit leads to the dawning of wisdom. This is the ultimate
objective of organizing the Avalokitesvara Grand Puja 2008.
We were grateful to the
gracious blessings from the Buddha, our beloved root Guru
Sonam Rinpoche, Lamas, sponsors, volunteers, dharma brothers
and sisters and that had participated and together made
this puja an astounding success. All the proceeds that after
deducted for the expenses involved, were directed into the
building fund of the Nga Gyur
Shed Dup Childrens' Home. May all the merits
gained, be dedicated to all mother beings.
