About Nga Gyur Shed Dup Choe Ling
|
Nga Gyur Shed Dup Choe Ling (NSCL) means “The Buddhadharma Place” in English. It is NSCF’s ever first Maha-project in Tibet, named and led by Sonam Rinpoche to construct the multi purpose building with a combination of orphanage, old folks home and Buddhist Institute.
With the blessings of Buddhas and the support from the generous public, we are able to build the first phase of the NSCL in 2008 at Azi Dugshul Village in the Bai Yu County, namely Nga Gyur Shed Dup Childrens’ Home.

NSCH is a charitable entity to provide home, food and education for the abandoned, homeless and deprived children, to let them know that they are not alone; to foster their ability to cherish what they have and pacify their fear, so that they grow up to lead a normal life and to be a responsible citizen.
The blue skies, the vast grasslands and the holy mountains are just some of other magnificence that makes Tibet a true beauty to the world, yet, it is one of the poorest region. Poverty is one of the reason that cause many homeless children. Children here are abandoned and orphaned mostly due to poverty and social issues.

NSCH provides a unique opportunity for underprivileged and orphaned children to be sheltered and educated at an attached school, to be loved and cared for in a family-like environment.
The objectives of NSCH are:
- To provide food and housing in a secure and nurturing home environment.
- To provide quality education that emphasizes on ethical and spiritual development and academic achievement.
- To prevent them from engaging in anti-social activities and promote ethical values, human potential and sense of responsibility towards society and environment.
- To educate the children and community about health concerns and offer adequate medical care.
Currently there are 64 children receiving care and monastic education in NSCH. The curriculum includes traditional Buddhist studies as well as language classes in Tibetan, Chinese and English, mathematics and art. |

In order to sustain the daily life of the children, we always welcome the various organizations and individuals who are ready to help us and provide us aid. Without the contribution of various sectors, the project is unable to stand by itself. Regardless of your skin colour, gender, age, religion or country of origin, we are appealing to you to lend a helping hand to the people of Tibet. |

How can you help the children?
Child Sponsorship
Sponsoring a child is an exceptionally wonderful way of helping. A donation of US$1 per day or USD$360 per year will mean that, as well as knowing deserving children are benefiting from your generosity, your name will go into our database and you will receive:
- an annual report and photo of your nominated child.
You can also help by donating to one of the following:
- General Donation: Donations will support the day to day running of the school and the orphanage including all learning materials and resources, food and medicine as well as warm undergarments for the children or where the need is most urgent.
- Building Fund: Donations will be directed towards the extension and improvement of facilities to allow new enrolments.
To be kind to those who have come from afar,
to those who have been ill for a long time,
or to our parents in their old age, is equivalent to meditating on
emptiness of which compassion is the very essence.
